Kathleen Brett

Kathleen Brett is a Program Analyst focused on Space Sustainability at Secure World Foundation and has worked in the private sector, academia, and government contracting spaces. Most recently, Ms. Brett served as a Policy Analyst within the Nuclear National Security Administration Graduate Fellowship Program. Her interest in outer space policy is vast, and during her time at the University of Pittsburgh, Ms. Brett focused on sharpening her outer space policy analysis skills through leading the Matthew B. Ridgway Center’s Weaponization of Space Working Group, in tandem with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFWERX). Further demonstrating her passion for policy analysis, Ms. Brett completed a Master’s thesis on the BRICS Group’s outer space coalition-building potential, served as Editor-In-Chief of the Pitt Policy Journal, and worked as the Events Graduate Student Assistant at the University Center for International Studies’ European Studies Center.

Education

Ms. Brett holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and Political Science from James Madison University. She additionally holds a Master of Public and International Affairs (M.P.I.A.) degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, with a concentration in Security and Intelligence Studies.
