2018 Annual Report
In 2018, Secure World Foundation carried out 120 global projects across six continents, building international cooperation to secure the long-term sustainability of outer space. This report showcases SWF’s efforts to shape policy, advance legal frameworks, and promote transparency in space activities.
Highlights include engagement with the United Nations on space security and law, support for the development of responsible norms for on-orbit servicing through CONFERS, and new research into global counterspace capabilities. SWF also emphasized the importance of space weather, space resources governance, and youth engagement in the space community.
The report also marks a leadership transition, with Peter Martinez becoming Executive Director in October 2018. It reflects SWF’s mission-driven impact through partnerships with governments, NGOs, academia, and industry.
